HOW TO ASSESS YOUR LANGUAGE LEVEL
In many situations, it is necessary to present the level of our knowledge of a foreign language. This happens, for example, when we prepare our CV, when applying for various types of courses or universities. It will also be needed in NETcollege so that we can carefully plan the classes.
A useful and widely recognized scale is the Council of Europe Scale (CEFR Common European Framework of Reference), which describes the user's competences by classifying them on a six-point scale, from A1 to C2 (the highest proficiency, considered equal to native speakers). At each level, you can write a TEST PLACEMENT that will help us find out where you are on this scale. There will also be a special practice lesson where the teacher will assess your speaking and understanding skills. The only thing left for us to do is get to work
If you want to prepare for a foreign language exam, we offer a special exam package. You choose the exam, give the approximate date when you plan to pass it, and we program the classes. You will then receive a special PRE EXAM PAPER.
A person using the language at this level understands and is able to use memorised, colloquial expressions and build very simple statements to meet the specific needs of everyday life. A student can introduce himself and others. He/she asks questions about private life, place of residence, friends and possessions, and answer similar questions. He/she can conduct a simple conversation, provided that the other party is speaking slowly and clearly and is ready to help. .
A person using the language at this level understands statements and frequently used expressions related to the most important issues (e.g. basic information about the interlocutor, his family, shopping, environment, work). He/she can communicate in typical, simple communication situations requiring only direct exchange of views on known and repetitive topics. He/she can easily describe the environment they come from and the immediate surroundings, as well as express the ideas in a very simple way on topics related to the most important needs.
A person using the language at this level understands the importance of the main threads of the message contained in clear, standard statements that relate to familiar matters and events typical of work, school, free time, etc. He / she can cope with the usual situations of traveling to a country where the language is spoken. He / she can create simple, coherent oral and written statements on topics they know or are interested in. He / she can describe personal events and experiences as well as plans, projects and dreams for the future.
A person using the language at this level understands the importance of the main themes of the message contained in complex texts on specific and abstract topics, and can understand a discussion using specialized language, if it concerns professional topics.He/ she can communicate fluently and spontaneously enough to have a normal conversation with a native speaker without any special effort for either party. He/she can make clear and detailed oral or written statements on a wide range of topics and express their position on the issues under discussion, presenting the advantages and disadvantages of different solutions.
A person who can speak a language at this level can understand demanding, extensive texts on a wide variety of topics. By reading and listening, he / she can understand not only the basic message, but also the subtext, hidden meanings and the author's attitude. He / she can express himself / herself fluently, quickly and freely select appropriate phrases. He / she can use language effectively and freely in social, educational and professional contacts. He / she can formulate clear, well-structured, detailed written statements on a wide range of topics, using grammar rules and linguistic tools for the organization of oral and written statements in a way that indicates very good command of the language.
A person who can speak a language at this level can easily understand virtually anything he or she reads or hears. Speakers at this level understands and reports further information from various written or spoken sources, are able to discuss the theses and explanations contained in them in a consistent and fluent manner. They express thoughts fluently, spontaneously and precisely, emphasizing shades of meaning even in more complex statements.
